SWITZERLAND Frank Webb, AWS, NWS watercolor July 18-31, 2008 $3,095 ptr. $2,895 non ptr.
This is one of the few workshops we do where you only have to unpack ONCE for two weeks. We spend one night in Zurich to gather the group, and then are bused by our private motorcoach to the Lauterbrunnen Valley, where the stunning trio of Monch, Eiger and Jungfrau mountains are a glorious sight to behold. From our chalet, we can see the length of the valley, full of waterfalls on both sides. We'll have some easy day trips by train to Wengen, Murren, and a little bus trip to an "historical living vilage" (best I've ever seen) called Ballenberg. Don't be afraid of the altitude; we are at lower levels. But you do need to be able to walk. Murren has no cars, and even painting in Lauterbrunnen, you will need to be able to walk. There are no taxis. Perfect weather at this time of year. Occasionally the farmers lead the cows past our hotel on their way to the high pasture. Cow bells ringing, lovely sights and sounds. Includes: room-double occupancy (singles available), all breakfasts, 8 dinners, transportation within Switzerland, entrance fees, hotel tips and taxes
